Adult Faith Formation

And He said to them, “O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into His glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
— Luke 24: 25-27

Adult Faith Formation: Deepening Your Spiritual Journey

Do you long to grow spiritually and nourish your relationship with God?

French Catholic novelist, Leon Bloy wrote: "The only real sadness, the only real failure, the only great tragedy in life, is not to become a saint". At Sacred Heart Parish, we know that our spiritual journey is a lifelong endeavor, but it is never too late to embark on a path of discovery and understanding, it’s never too late to become saints.

Adult Faith Formation is an essential process inviting Catholic Christians to integrate their own life experiences with knowledge of the faith, love of God, and love of neighbor. It is a complete initiation into the life of the Church as a way of forming a Christian conscience and a desire to act as Christ’s hands and feet in the world. It gives us an integrated understanding of who we are as beloved children of God. What are YOU waiting for? Join us in the next adventure, read below to see how you can participate.

New Adult Faith Formation Class

Monastic Practices to enrich our relationship with God.

As 2024 begins, it’s a good time to discern where you are headed. Monastic practices can lead us to a richer relationship with God, guide us in our pursuit and discovery of God. We can explore the rich traditional values that nuns and monks practice and begin to make them our own. Are you listening to God? Are you engaging in spiritual reading? Are you practicing hospitality, silence, solitude? Are you praying regularly?

Monastic practices can lead us to a deeper encounter with God in faith, hope, and love. A veteran monk writes, “In the art of living the monastic life, we are always beginning anew our search for God, because there is always more of the triune, living God to be discovered.” Integrating monastic practices in our daily living can foster that discovery and lead us to a richer life of devotion and service to God. This series is suitable for newcomers and old-timers on their spiritual journey. Class format includes a presentation, conversation, and fellowship as we learn and grow together in our love for Jesus Christ and our Catholic faith.
